French at Rosendale

Monthly Archives: October 2018

Did you know that in France, post boxes are yellow?

The toys had lots of adventures, including hiding in a pile of pumpkins and attending a 70th birthday party!

Great work this week!

Bon travail cette semaine.

The toys made art at the Tate Gallery, played football and made crêpes.

Did you know that photography was invented in France?

This week, we learnt that every Friday, Paris is overrun by more than a thousand roller skaters who ride through the town!

The toys visited a cafe, a museum and went horse riding!

We are thrilled to be writing to children near Montpellier in the South of France at the Collège Louis Germain in Saint Jean de Védas.

We wrote letters introducing ourselves. We can’t wait to hear back from our new pen pals!

The toys had fantastic adventures. Richmond park to see ‘cerfs’  (deer), a tap-dancing lesson (les claquettes) and a football match (le foot).

Did you know, the largest beach in Europe is at la Baule in the Loire-Atlantique department of France? It measures 12 km.

Une belle Tour Eiffel. Interesting fact: camper vans are not allowed into Paris!

Bon travail…

Lapin learnt about the French game Pétanque (boules). This young man beats his grandmother at the game every time he visits her in Valence!

Excellente écriture en français.

Lucky Monsieur Bleu travelled by tube (métro) to Old Street to the barbers (barbier).

We learnt that the colours of the French flag are Bleu, Blanc, Rouge.

Bon travail!
